LG's cumulative shipments of OLED TVS have exceeded 10 million units. This is the result of three quarters of super-fast growth. While the overall market is clearly peaking (meaning it has peaked and is showing signs of decline), LG OLED TV has maintained a double growth trend year-on-year, with cumulative shipments reaching 10 million units.
According to market research firm Omdia on Wednesday, LG's OLED TV shipments reached 899,000 units in the third quarter of this year. That was up about 80 percent from a year earlier and the largest third-quarter shipments on record. As of the third quarter of this year, LG OLED TV shipments totaled 2.635 million units. Not only was that more than double the three quarters last year, but it also surpassed last year's annual shipments. Shipments this year are likely to double from last year to 4 million. Since the launch of LG OLED TVS in 2013, cumulative shipments have exceeded 10 million units in the third quarter. It took nearly seven years to reach 5 million units and less than two years to reach 10 million units.
